Reusable operating kit

Changeover runbook

Sequence a technology move from decision through pilot, cutover, reconciliation, and retirement.

TARGET OUTPUT

What the completed kit should do

A controlled change with visible owners, evidence, fallback, and aftercare.

FIELDS

Capture these facts in your approved system

  • Business problem, scope, exclusions, owner, and decision date
  • Affected people, workflows, records, integrations, devices, locations, and vendors
  • Acceptance checks, pilot group, stop conditions, and fallback
  • Export, migration, validation, cutover, communication, support, and reconciliation steps
  • Old-system access, retention, deletion, contract closure, and review date
SEQUENCE

Use the structure in this order

  1. 01

Frame the business result and boundary.

  2. 02

Prove export, import, access, and exceptions on representative examples.

  3. 03

    Pilot a narrow operating slice.

  4. 04

Cut over with owners, communication, and fallback ready.

  5. 05

Reconcile, support, review, then retire the old path.

DONE WHEN

Close the loop

Acceptance evidence is complete, affected people can work, records reconcile, and the old path has a controlled disposition.

CAUTION

Keep sensitive material out of this site

  • Do not use live sensitive data for an unapproved test. Do not delete the old source until retention, reconciliation, and rollback needs are resolved.
