Reusable operating kit
Changeover runbook
Sequence a technology move from decision through pilot, cutover, reconciliation, and retirement.
What the completed kit should do
A controlled change with visible owners, evidence, fallback, and aftercare.
Capture these facts in your approved system
- Business problem, scope, exclusions, owner, and decision date
- Affected people, workflows, records, integrations, devices, locations, and vendors
- Acceptance checks, pilot group, stop conditions, and fallback
- Export, migration, validation, cutover, communication, support, and reconciliation steps
- Old-system access, retention, deletion, contract closure, and review date
Use the structure in this order
- 01
Frame the business result and boundary.
- 02
Prove export, import, access, and exceptions on representative examples.
- 03
Pilot a narrow operating slice.
- 04
Cut over with owners, communication, and fallback ready.
- 05
Reconcile, support, review, then retire the old path.
Close the loop
Acceptance evidence is complete, affected people can work, records reconcile, and the old path has a controlled disposition.
Keep sensitive material out of this site
- Do not use live sensitive data for an unapproved test. Do not delete the old source until retention, reconciliation, and rollback needs are resolved.
