Recovery proof
What counts as recovery proof for small-business technology?
Recovery proof is a dated record that an authorized person restored a representative business record or service dependency into a safe location, checked whether it supported the named business job, measured the time, recorded gaps, and assigned the next correction and retest.
Facts the business should be able to see
- Define the business job, required recovery point, useful recovery time, safe test item, authorization, and isolated restore location.
- Record requester, operator, start, finish, validation result, missing elements, cleanup, follow-up owner, and retest date.
- Pair the restore result with an offline first-hour card that names the lead, safe contact route, continuity path, and escalation points.
What this definition cannot establish
- A sample restore does not prove that every record, configuration, identity, integration, or incident scenario can be recovered.
- Do not overwrite current work, reconnect suspect systems, or destroy possible evidence during an incident without qualified direction.
